ResearchGATE and the International Academy of Life Sciences (IALS) launched a cooperation in the area of scientific networking. The IALS will establish ResearchGATE’s technology as the number one communication platform among scientists in its transatlantic network, enabling them to communicate more efficiently about ongoing research and other current projects.
Continue reading "Cooperation with IALS" ResearchGATE has been invited by Euroscience for a presentation at their Euroscience Open Forum from 18th to 22nd of July 2008 in Barcelona. It will take place on the second-last day of the conference during the session “Euroscience's Interactive Workshop: Development of a virtual network custom designed for scientists”. We are looking forward to discussing our project with the science community at the forum. Up to 5000 researchers and 500 science journalists are expected to attend the conference. We’ll keep you informed.
The academic journal Science, published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), has reported on the launch of ResearchGATE in its current issue (30.May
2008). “The fact that millions of people are already connected through Facebook didn’t stop Ijad Madisch from dreaming up a networking site tailored to life scientists and social scientists”, it says. Though ResearchGATE is obviously not the first social networking platform, the article is headed “Pioneers”: We are the first offer truly matching the needs of the scientific community. Science has a worldwide readership exceeding one million.
ResearchGATE has started collaborating with top-notch research institutions and organisations. They support our project because they believe in ResearchGATE’s potential for researchers, especially younger ones. Our platform helps them to build up a social network of scientists, which leads to an increase in their research quality and quantity. Among the supportive institutions are the European Science Foundation, Max Planck PhDnet, European Students’ Conference and GAIN. Further partnerships are currently being discussed.
Dear Researchers,
many of you keep asking us about what is going on within ResearchGATE and the evolving Science 2.0 community. To open the curtain a little bit, we decided to start the ResearchGATE blog, providing you with up-to-date information constantly. We will use this blog to announce new cooperations, to publish press releases and to discuss new applications with you. Furthermore, we will introduce new junior and senior advisors via this platform. Please let us know if you have any input or comments! Best wishes Your team at ResearchGATE |
